Multi-instrumentalist and self-taught producer Spock (aka Kai Kunipo) gathers wide-ranging influences past and present to create “Harmony”, the fourth vinyl release on Roots Run Deep. Recorded and performed entirely by Spock, “Harmony” blends a Jamaican backbeat with a nu-disco feeling, funky guitar riffs and lush, layered vocals to create a style reminiscent of what some might call a reggae Tame Impala. As a riddim, the production shines through, revealing Spock’s talent as both an agile producer and discerning musician.
