Description
The '50s and '60s saw a last flowering of the bilingual, Cubop-infected, often vibraphone-led quintet sound. Puente was one of its heavies, but in New York at least, the tradition was maintained into the pachanga and even boogalu era of the ’60s by Joe Cuba.
