TURN ON THE SUNLIGHT / NEW DAY by CARLOS NINO & JESSE PETERSON

Initially based on Carlos Nino's dream of music made by "John Fahey and Brian Eno about the ocean, stars, and love", he and guitarist/vocalist Jesse Peterson released their first self-titled album in 2010. Featuring Peterson's wife and singer Mia Doi Todd (known for her incredible solo albums such as "Cosmic Ocean Ship", and her collaborations with Savath & Savalas, Jose Gonzales), and drummer/singer Dexter Story (solo album "Seasons" on Kindred Spirits), the second album delves into ambient, Krautrock, world music, fusing it together with a catchy psych-folk sound.The majority of the songs are written by Nino and Peterson, along with Mia Doi Todd, Dexter Story, and LA based Japanese guitarist Hiro Makino, also featuring jazz bassist Gabe Noel. This album sees Turn On The Sunlight developing into a larger family type entity, similar to Nino's spiritual jazz project Build An Ark. The droney, ambient, uplifting sounds and melodies of this album are sure to bring listeners into a blissful and altered state.
