Description
Two Years after the enigma known as Hamijama (aka Jake Mandell) surfaced on Beta Bodega(Cultivar and Ancient Cities 2) , Ancient Cities volume 1 finallysufaces on vinyl as a 3 track limited split release between Beta Bodega and guerillacore partner Metatronix. Hamijama continues where he left off with an offering of electro disjointed funk and techno for dj's in the year 2012. Speaking of funk, the flipside finds three exclusive tracks from the 'Funnk for da Trunk'man himself, Miami's Diamond Ice. More minimal electro funk from Miami made for riding out while that bass drops, you coukldnt really call this instrumental hip hop as the swing flys way too low and the low end flips your stomach throu 360 degrees of heavy pressure - Diamond Ice's musical sensibilities make you think you are in a Grand Theft Auto video game riding down Biscayne Blvd. As everything in Miami, techno has a way of being affected by the heat on the streets.
