Description

For this WPH excursion - ReggieDokes brings 3 brand new tracks and one older gem that has been edited and reworked by FCL (San Soda and Red D).An EP by Reggie Dokes on We Play House Recordings was simply inevitable. Not only does this man’s music move us to the extreme, Reggie and label boss Red D also go a long way back and have been friends ever since Red D visited the Movement Festival in 2003. For WPH004 Reggie brings us 3 brand new tracks and one older gem that has been edited and reworked by FCL, the collaboration between San Soda and Red D. The FCL Edit of ‘Dream Catcher’ kicks off the A-side and does so in storming fashion. The original track is hidden completely in the edit but the new track would do justice to Motor City Drum Ensembles ‘Raw Cut’ series. The second track on the A-side is ‘Walk In Deepness’, where a solid beat is accompanied by gorgeous saxophone snippets and Reggie’s trademark piano stabs. A mental track for discerning dancefloors. On the B-side we first find ‘Dancefloor Spectacle’, another Reggie Dokes dancefloor special. An intimistic piece of work that is taken to another level by some solid vibes that carry this track well beyond todays rather bland version of deep house. ‘Flowers Forever’ finishes the EP on a downbeat note, making it the first ever WPH-track that is aimed for pure home listening. Or do you have the balls to play it out? Safe to say we at We Play House Recordings are pretty proud to have this winner in our ranks!
