Description

2 classic funk cuts available again! On the A side, the original version of the funk anthem So Much Trouble In My Mind was recorded along with Fool In Love in 1969 at track recording studio with the original Free Soul lineup. Although initially rejected by GSF Records, and engineer Jon Bon Jovi, who preferred a more uptempo version, Sir Joe maintained a loyalty to his funk soul blues roots as heard in the slower version. Guitarist Jackie Lee always rounds out any Quarterman standard with his fuzz guitar and E flat licks. Sometimes the band would perform this version live to round out a funkier set for SJ&FSs funk and soul following. On side B, AK1205 features the first issue of Sir Joe and Free Soul titles of I'm a Young Man and You’re Fun! Recorded locally in 1975 at track studios, engineered also in New York by Tony Bon Jovi, Young Man featured one of the Free Soul original lineups Charles Steptoe, Milton Smith drums /Jack e Lee guitar /bass - Elliot Adams, keyboards Wayne Anderson. Enjoy the first extended version – over 6 minutes long! – of the Young Man. You’re Fun features a clavinet workout by Joe himself.
