SHATTERING EP by ANSWER CODE REQUEST

Arriving some four years after his second LP Gens, the Shattering EP opens in an especially exploratory mode as ACR teases elements of breakbeat and ambient techno on the spellbinding 'Resonate', 'Shattering' finds a different palette through which to explore broken rhythms, leaning in on a heavyweight bassline injected with rave-wired distortion. There are more linear techno pulses to be found in the tunnelling propulsion of 'CRS-21', but in the interests of contrast the EP closes with the sparkling refraction of 'Sustaining Life', a floor-ready masterclass in electronica with teeth.
