Sen’nyū is a deeply immersive work created during Meitei’s residency in the hot spring city of Beppu, commemorating its 100th anniversary. Known for his “Lost Japan” series, Meitei captures the essence of onsen culture through field recordings and ambient composition. The album unfolds as a single, meditative piece shaped by geothermal soundscapes, ancient baths, and the atmosphere of a city steeped in mist and memory. Sen’nyū marks a new chapter in his exploration of place, ritual, and environmental music, and is accompanied by his first photo book documenting his time in Beppu.
