SCRAPED & BUTTERED - STEVE SUMMERS MIX by SYCORAX

After a well received debut release, and the unveiling of a Sycorax live performance, Pneumatic Records comes with its second release, the “Orfamay Quest EP”. Featuring two new Sycorax tracks, and one track remixed by the prolific Steve Summers (Clone, L.I.E.S). Check!Side A: “Flip Got Switch” sees Sycorax changing gears to flex their house muscle all the while experimenting with a different palette of sounds and vocal samples. It comes out of the of gate thumping and grooving, taking the listener on a ride as an unexpected layers of guitar and piano unfold creating a refreshing sound for the dance floor. The second track is a remix by acclaimed producer Steve Summers who knocks it out of the park with his signature haunted dreamy sound. His version is uncharacteristically slick and dubbed out, yet still encapsulates the rawness we’ve come to expect from this talented producer. Side B: "Euphrates" has a very classic "Detroit" feel - crisp hi-hats, solid kick drums, tense yet swinging keyboards. It jacks like Derrick Carter, jabs like Henrik Schwarz and Wild Pitches like Pierre. Think the Dance Mania Catalogue, or Transmat circa 1991.
