REMINDSTATE EP by PETE PHILLY & PERQUISITE

After the release of the Mindstate album, Pete Philly & Perquisite are back with Remindstate, a totally remixed version of their critically acclaimed debut. For Remindstate Pete & Perq approached DJs, groups and musicians they loved from all over the world, which resulted in an even more eclectic release than the original Mindstate album. The Remindstate EP features a selection of five, mostly club-oriented remixes taken from the Remindstate album; all of them previously unreleased.Side A kicks in with a very nice tribe-flavoured house remix of Motivated by upcoming Dutch producer Crackman. Next comes an incredibly funky remix of Mellow by Morgan Spacek, main producer of UK-based trio Spacek, who gained underground fame with their classic 2nd album Vintage Hi-Tech. the Last track on the A-side is an introspective remake of Lazy by Atlanta-based Hip-Hop-group Collective Efforts. Besides the three MCs of the group the remake also includes a totally new verse by Pete Philly. The B-side of the EP opens up with a remix of Cocksure by famous Dutch house-producer Laidback Luke, who is known for his remixes for Roger Sanchez, Moodymann and Daft Punk. After this explosion of energy the EP closes with a Latin-flavoured Hip-Hop-remix of Cheeky by DJ PCM, the first official release from this upcoming Dutch beat creator of whom well certainly hear more from in the future.
