Raphael 'Ray' Munnings is famously known as the band leader and singer of the mighty Bahamian Funk legends The Beginning Of The End, he is also a formidable solo artist in his own right with a clutch of sought after, rare 7" singles throughout the early to late 70's as well as numerous appearances with his band.'Opportunity Knockin' from 1972 is an early one from Ray, released on TK Disco's Alston imprint, it's often been a rare 45 and doesn't show up very often. 'Opportunity Knockin' is channelling the usual sun-soaked vibes of his later material this single is a sweet one for summertime, breezy horn infused funk with tough drums and that Caribbean vibe. The b-side is also a winner, 'Sleep On, Dream On' is an uptempo slice of wah wah driven Soul with a serious groove and a peace-loving, ecologist theme running through Ray's vocals.
