Aesop Rock from the Def Jux pharmacy, might be a hard pil to swallow for neophytes. His dense hyperlyrical rhyme style oozes cryptic thick metaphor and social sarcasm and made him praised and scorned in equal measure. Yet, None Shall Pass is less grim and more accessible than past releases. More story driven songs, more live instrumentation, most of the production is done by Blockhead, and it features appearances by El-P, Breeze Brewin, Cage, Rob Sonic & John Darnelle (Moutain Goats). Plus the vinyl also includes a limited edition card to download the complete album of MP3s for free.
