Description

Wallias Band were an Ethiopian jazz/funk outfit active from the 70ï¿½s until the 90ï¿½s. They recorded and worked with Mulatu Astatke. They were amongst the first Ethipian bands to tour the USA.On ï¿½Muziqa Muziqaï¿½ saxophonist Seyoum Gebreyes collaborates with the Wallias Band. Very little is known about Seyoumï¿½ ï¿½Muziqa Muziqaï¿½ is an uptempo Ethio-funk jam, with a soaring vocal, driving organ, drums and brass. ï¿½Muziqawi Slitï¿½ is a chugging, hypnotic Ethiopian jazz funk groover featuring organ player by Hailu Mergia. Taken from his ï¿½Tche Belewï¿½ LP originally released on Kaifa in 1977, featuring Mulatu Astatke, arranged by Girme Beyene.
