MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION by V/A

This release is the soundtrack of a play based on Mothership Connection by Amsterdam based theatre company Made In The Shade (who make theatre plays with a hip hop state of mind). The first two tracks feature the talented vocalist Senna, who voice and related production have a strong link to todays Philly nu soul genre. Diva is an uptempo nu soul track and is most appealing to dance floors, while Chicken Out is a more laidback song. Anger Management by Wonder has a deeper, poetry like feeling, again comparable to Phillys singers, like Ursula Rucker. The music on this track sounds animated-like with heavy strings and strong hip-hop beats. Also Babalicious is featured on a deep poetry like track. On the flip the two Senna tracks are featured, both instrumentals as well as acapellas. Youll be hearing a lot from Senna soon, as she has teamed up with Pete Philly (Unexpected) as well as some other well known Amsterdam producers. Off Da Dome is a record label, which is related to Made In Da Shade. On this label music by Shade related projects & artists will be released.
