Messalina are back with a new vinyl release, this time welcoming Balearic supremo Riccio to the fold.The man from Bologna delivers three tracks, opening with an astonishing 10 minute edit of an 80s pop track from his native Italy. ‘Bella’ is an ode to a lost summer love underpinned with funky drums and percussion keeping up the dancefloor interest. Turn over for a bumping funky rework of a superb African 7inch with its folk sensibilities slightly tamed for a modern audience and now with a long and proper intro that celebrates the great acid synth only played once in the original. Last up is the great uptempo summery samba of 'Todo Dia', an ecological and 'happily conscious' song about the Brazilian Indios...
