Description

Mariana Wax draws its start-point from the deepest place on the earth and in the sea, the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean & its fearsome, mysterious & beautiful creatures.The imprint starts with a track by Mariana founder Dave Twomey - Tr nch's 'Challenger Deep' - a gnarled ambient soundscape featuring the voice of Captain Jacques Picard describing the first descent in 1960 to over 10,000 metres below sea level, the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Next up comes Mike Parker's inimitably heavy, throbbing & sonar-inflected 'Below Zero'. The EP is completed with the driving, journey-esque 'Valve' by Wata Igarashi.
