4 different artists giving live cover versions from various wellknown tracks here on this 4 track 12". Record comes without sleeve art!Spraker Sgt. Is a 3 piece hip Hop/jazz band, featuring many wellknown Japanese session players. Here they covered the Cut Chemist Party mix of ‘The Number Song’ , originally by by DJ Shadow through Mo’Wax at the time.They keep original's funk groove, and cut-up flavor added with some live improvisation. Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro comes from the japanese funk/jazz scene .Here they covered Underworld's classic ‘Born Slippy’ , carrying elements from Isaac Hayes's ‘Shaft’. Cro-Magnon gives a take on Daft Punk's ‘One More Time’ in their wellknown disco-style . Blue Smith is the famous Japanese B-3 player and disciple of the legendary Jimmy Smith. He covered the classic ‘Strings Of Life’ by Derrick May; with a solid breakbeat groove, and edhy B-3 playing.
