With the support of their respective bands, Santana and The Mahavishnu Orchestra, guitarists Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin created an album in 1973. The record was created as an homage to John Coltrane and was motivated by Sri Chinmoy's teachings. Two Coltrane compositions, two McLaughlin tunes, and a traditional gospel song that Santana and McLaughlin have adapted are all included.
