This is a 45 in the lineage of gospel 45s.Back when many gospel bands could only afford to make 45s to sell at their shows, the 45 became the literature of so much gospel music (not to mention garage rock and soul throughout America). It's an incredibly rich tradition, and we're happy for Annie and the Caldwells to be a part of it with this little slice of 7” goodness.

"I Made It" is an explosive dancefloor soul anthem—a disco declaration in which Miss Annie fends off Satan’s bombs with righteous fire and irresistible groove.

On the flip side is "I’m Going to Rise," the Caldwells’ quintessential quartet ballad. Annie begins alone in a haunted and defiant alto, Go ahead. A chorus of three female voices responds, multiplying voices, folding them around the story of the song: Death can’t keep me in the ground. A guitar solo punctuates and intensifies the defiance.
