Alongside the release of Betty Lou Landreth's expanded LP reissue, Backatcha Records presents more exclusive material from her 1979 Detroit studio sessions with an all-star line-up of some of the city's finest jazz musicians. 'Emmanuel's Way' is a laid back, stripped down, jazz-funk instrumental with renowned Detroit keyboardist Emmanuel Riggins (father of Karriem Riggins) on electric piano. On the flipside, Landreth and the band pay tribute to Stevie Wonder with a breakbeat heavy cover version of his hit, 'Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day', featuring an unhinged vocal performance from Landreth. Both tracks are exclusive to this single.
