THE BIG PAYBACK by THE BIG PAYBACK

Byron, 19 y.o., lives in Alabama and plays the piano since the age of 6. Through Myspace he met Onra, a beatmaker from Paris. For months they exchanged mp3 and started an engaging collaboration. Onra laid the drums and did all of the programing and percussions, Byron was in charge of the melodic parts (fender rhodes, Microkorg etc…). The alchemy worked right away and the first demos drew the attention of many influential DJs from various styles (nu-soul, broken beat, hip-hop).This is a 5 track 12” with music taken from their sametitled album, that was recently released on the Japanese circulations label, and now also out on Just Like Vibes. The instrumental of ‘Blue berry Weed’ (featuring female MC Isis from Toronto) is exclusive to this 12. The duet The Big Payback also has a track on Cinnaman/Jay Scarlett’s compilation ‘Beat Dimensions’ on our own label. Tip!
