Limited black vinyl repress Surface re-emerges from the murky depths of Londonshire with part 2 of the new project / sub division 'Beneath the Surface', a series of releases forthcoming sporadically over the next year or so, delving beneath the surface and blurring the boundaries of the deeper shades of house and techno. Between Worlds sees Sandwell District team up with Nick Dunton of 65D Mavericks fame with an EP dedicated to long time friend and Nicks fellow maverick Richard Polson R.I.P.The A side sees Nick delivering his trademark emotive sounds.... lush harmonies, deep drones and echoing stabs line the track whilst the phasing drums, keys and melodic sub bass keep the journey moving beautifully towards a crescendo of harmonic drifts. On the flip long time friends of the label Sandwell District strip back the layers with a special mix for Rich. Sandwell move the track towards the dance floor with rumbling bass lines and crisp beats morphing in and out of lush sustained textures.
