Description

Sampler #4 from the Global Communication “Back In The Box” compilation album, the techno and ambient retrospective selected by Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard, back together again after a 15 year hiatus!Opening up this seriously hot four track EP is a staple track in the Detroit techno history. Carl Craig’s BFC project released ‘Galaxy’ in 1990, and has lost none of it’s futuristic charm since. Track two comes from the Dutch label, Djax-Up Beats, and is a captivating and beautiful piece of Norwegian techno from Ismistik. On the flip, more retrospective action from Carl Craig’s Planet E label, this time from Sherard Ingram’s Urban Tribe project. Closing the sampler is Jay Denham’s short, sharp shock of tension-stroking techno, only 4 minutes in length but a brooding dark composition that featured on legendary Fade II Black releases on Derrick May’s Fragile label and licensed to the UK’s techno home, Network Records in 1990.
