ASCENDER by NIAGARA

Niagara returns with a 4 track EP, the first on their own label Ascender!‘SEE’ is a techno jam built around a circular motif, gathering enough energy only to break out into a melodic and dramatic swirl. ‘Beto’ begins with an evocation of Larry Heard’s Chicago arriving at a melody that glides into the atmosphere. At the end, more keys join in… in a nutshell: synthesized Disco. ‘Hexe’ begins and ends always keeping up with an insisting cadence. The plastic texture, the vibes, the mutating percussion all cut through, while the track builds and reduces constantly. ‘Ara’ I do not think it is possible to get any grittier than this! Seriously. Dramatic strings, komisch synth line, bare-bones percussion, etc.
