Description

Preceding their long awaited debut album ‘Annie get your gun’, Scallymatic Orchestra release this limited 7” single containing two strong vocal tracks. Featuring a Benny Sings on All I Can Give and a cover of Steely Dan's Do It Again on the flip!Side a contains one of their latest gems: a pretty unique colaboration with the talented Benny Sings (Dox/SonarKollektiv). ‘All I can give’ is an almost poppy jazzsong, based on a bas- and piano riff, with a chorus you’ll keep singing and whistling. We think it definitely has the potential of becoming the next summer hit!-) This one won’t be on the album! On the b-side you’ll have one of the hottest tracks from the album. An amazing rework of the Steely Dan classic ‘Do it again’ featuring Paul van Kessel (Wicked Jazz Sounds/Young Sinatras) on vocals. The heavy 6/8 jazzfeel takes this wellknown song into a whole new territory, without losing it’s meaning. Allready big support on Arrow Jazz FM. The song ‘All I can give’ will also be remixes by [Moto], Jazzinvaders and Black Gold 360. This download only release [fhr011] will also be available from March 5th. The album ‘Annie get your gun’ [fhr010] will be released April 2nd ’09. Scallymatic Orchestra has been a growing force on the Dutch (nu-)jazz scene ever since they started out in 2000. Their fresh mix of jazz with soul-, funk- and 70s fusion grooves has a distinct modern sound with a slight retro touch, which may be described as The Scallymatic Sound. With catchy grooves, cool themes, enough room for improvisation and a good dose of suspense, the band convinces both club crowds and the discerning listener. Scallymatic Orchestra plays original composition by guitarist/bandleader Mathijs Duringhof.
