Recycler was made to sound familiar. Many sounds on this album are recognisable from Juhans’ other works, repeated in this way to produce an additional, vaguely disorientating effect. Recycling or using something again, in this context, is both the initial act of sampling and then the reusing of the same sample over and over. Through this process, the songs deteriorate and appear in a different form. Something like deep sampling, or extreme sampling, it is a method Juhans has been perfecting over the course of many releases and collaborations (including L4b project with Lolina released on Relaxin Records, 2022). His previous albums include the self-released “Note From The Editor” (as Hanz, 2024), “In Scribble” (2023), “Essential Dread” (2020); a series of Plasty EPs; and several 12”s on Tri Angle Records.
