Description
When it first came out ten years ago, Deeparture in Time marked Brikha as a young artist to watch. He was 24 years old, an Iranian ex-pat living in Sweden, and one of the few artists outside of Detroit to be released on Derrick May's Transmat label. Deeparture In Time - Revisited features all ten of the album's original tracks, plus a second disc with ten songs recorded between 1995-1999, most of which are previously unreleased. The two-disc package will be the first release on Brikha's new label, Art of Vengeance (which fans will recognize as the title of his debut EP on May's sub-label, Fragile Records). Check!A number of the tracks have risen to classic status in the years since the album's release, especially "Groove La Chord," which blurred the line between house and techno in a way that at the time seemed unprecedented.
