Description

Soulful beats and true to life rhymes describes Incksalonius’ third studio recording “Grown, another day”. Laced with the stories of everyday living to everyday drama, her second studio EP serves as a re-introduction to the Brooklyn native whom entered onto the scene in 2000. First appearing on the unofficial release of the Okayplayer compilation in 2000, she went on to collaborate with Belgian Artist, Krewcial on “25/8” in 2001. Getting her name from being a well known writer, Incksalonius is a well seasoned Writer & MC that shares warm vibes and insight throughout her music. In 2002, she released her debut EP “Push” independently to go on and gain international attention on the preceding “Press Play” LP in 2005. Leading single “Rap Music” went on to create a great buzz leading Incksalonius to cross the Mid-Atlantic to share the stage with Artists such as The Proov, Pan Afrikanz & GMB. Taking some time out after her travels to establish independent label Real (Phresh) Music, Incksalonius and co-founding partner Silent Someone began to release their own brand of music in 2006. Now in 2009, she continues to mix down-to-earth lyrics with that good and wholesome Hip-Hop! ”Grown, another day” was born through Incks’ life experience as worker for troubled children & teenagers which gave way to the leading single “Teach the kids (how to rhyme)”. Serving as an anthem for MC’s and Artists alike, “Teach the kids” reminds them to be mindful of their influence on the youth. With production by upcoming Bronx Producer Silent Someone, Incks’ delivery is smooth and witty over mid-tempo beats. “Soul Forever” & title track “Grown, another day” presents nostalgia to that ol’ boom-bap reminiscent of the golden era in Hip-Hop culture. “Grown, another day” is packed with thumping kicks, nicely chopped samples and powerful messages that makes for a short-but-sweet timeless classic!
