Here are some of the highlights of what we have in store for you this week.

Up first is part three of Dirty Blends that sees The Jak returning to the forefront with two crucial new jakbeat compositions: ‘Black Accordion’ and ‘Dirty Riddim 87’.

Next comes Dutch experimental music icon Michel Banabila’s fantastic ‘Echo Transformations’ on Knekelhuis, a magical album that delves deeper into Banabila’s love affair with the Fourth World sound. Wonderful stuff from start to finish.

Carlos Nino follows up his beautiful ‘More Energy Fields, Current’ for International Anthem with a new set of blissful ambient sounds for Tokonoma alongside his friend Jesse Peterson as Turn On The Sunlight. Man, we love this.

Tony Truffa serves up four slices of both disco and disco-not-disco on Just What The World Needs. You know the drill, now get with it.

Your Old Droog turns in ‘Dropout Boogie’, a nifty little seven that features the late great MF DOOM, produced by the ever ruling Edan. If that doesn’t tell you enough we don’t know what will.

Miami-based Nick León is responsible for the latest Future Times joint, a versatile five track onslaught of highly original rhythms that features Greg Beato.

Make sure to check out Carlos Sanchez’ deep new EP for Sacred Rhythm that was made with the help of big names like Gregory Porter, Ledisi and Kenny Lattimore. Excellent material!

Mad About reissues another Brazilian holy grail in the form of Raposa Velha’s self-titled private 1981 avantgarde fusion album, issued in a deluxe stiff cardboard obi sleeve.

Amsterdam’s own New Cool Collective adds another winner to their already impressive catalog with their latest album ‘Yunikōn’ for Dox. Check!

And last but certainly not least: South-African reissue specialists Matsuli present their very first compilation, a wild selection of SA funk, jazz, fusion and disco burners in the finest Club Pelican tradition. Hot stuff!
