Afrosynth follows up the excellent first volume of ‘New Horizons’ with a stunning second, again showcasing some of the best and most promising players on the contemporary South African jazz scene in a true all-killer-no-filler fashion. A huge store favorite.

Esteemed US trumpeter, composer, producer and vocalist Theo Croker is back with his sixth full-length album ‘Blk2life: A Future Past’, an album we’ve been playing an awful lot here over the last few days.

More great jazz comes in the form of South Africa’s enigmatic trombonist and pianist Malcolm Jiyane’s ‘Umdali’. Check!

Kingston dub poet Nazambo lands on Riddim Chango with a sound system-torturing three track EP. Limited to 300 copies, so don’t sleep!

Knitting Factory celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of Fela Kuti’s ‘London Scene’ (originally released on HMV Nigeria in 1971) with a multi-colored new version - one for the collectors.

Another nice reissue you might want to check out is Agustín Pereyra Lucena’s 1980 album ‘La Rana’, that has the Argentinean guitarist taking on compositions by Ivan Lins, Jobim and Baden Powell.

Multicast Dynamics returns to Astral Industries, this time collaborating with German born, Finland based instrumentalist and composer Sid Hille.

Last but not least is a brand new album by Amsterdam’s finest, Jungle By Night, taking their ever morphing sound into new directions.
