RUSH HOUR SHOP TOP TIP

Here are some of the highlights of what we have in store for you this week.

Kicking off, we have the excellent Ivan Conti (Azymuth) / Grassmass collab with two epic experimental funk monsters, perfect for summer dancefloors and beyond

Next up is a limited whitelabel with club mixes from tracks of Soichi’s upcoming album by Masalo and Soichi Terada himself - these will not be around for too long!

Another one we have been long looking out for at our shop is the reissue from Piry Reis’s ‘Caminho do interior’  album. An absolutely stunning album we think, filled with lovely brazilian flavours, a bit melancholic at times. Well recommended!

The excellent Mushroom Hour half Hour imprint  keeps its high standard with On our own clock, linking musicians from the Johannesburg and London jazz scenes. The album digs into layers of South African jazz, traditional Senegalese instrumental music and London’s rich diaspora-informed musicality.

LA funk Dam-Funk graces us with a new doublepack with a selection of hazy house, lo-fi beats and smooth funk vibes. Very nice!

Amsterdams new tape only label kicks of with an awesome selection of slow jams by friend of the shop Patrick Gibin, who runs the Mother Tongue imperium out of Italy. Expect much more greatness to come on this label!

Two early Sound Signature reissues came in this week - both ‘Pieces of a Paradox’ and ‘Roots revisited’ are classic Theo Parrish gear and simply essential !

Shifting over to Blawan who drops a new doublepack of banging cutting edge tracks for Ternesc

Stanislav Tolkachev comes up strong also with a 4 tracker that anyone into Mills should give a listen

Closing the show is Rotterdam artist Kems Kriol who drops three beautiful downtempo excursions touching on Cape Verdean and Colombian styles with a contemporary electronic approach.
