Here are some of the highlights of what we have in store for you this week.

First up is the 2021 repress of Detroit techno legend Robert Hood’s iconic 1994 masterpiece ‘Minimal Nation’ that served as a blueprint and inspiration for multiple generations of techno producers ever since it first came out with its stripped-down, raw sound. Comes on triple white vinyl including CD.

Greg Belson follows up his highly successful ‘Divine Disco’ series with a deep exploration of the world of funky gospel on a compilation that features nothing but crazy rare stompers. Big tip!

Kyle Hall is back on Forget the Clock with the deep and sultry ‘Polychronic’ EP, one of his finest EP’s to date, totally groovin’ it out of the stadium.

Another Detroit winner is Delano Smith’ second installment of ‘Deeper Fundamentals’, a   chunky, funky and clunky three track EP on Mixmode.

Special attention for ‘UK Electronics 1988-1994’, a fun compilation of oddball electro, early techno, ambient, experimental, house and industrial music that was previously only available on the tape-only Mindscan label.

Originally released in 1996, ‘Concept 1 96’ is a groundbreaking experimental techno album by second wave Canadian techno pioneer Richie Hawtin, condensed from the 96 Concept series that proved hugely influential in the years that followed.

Lucky number seven here is Stepping Stones’ fantastic reggae cover version of The Ohio Players’ classic funk jam ‘Skin Tight’. You need to hear it to believe it.

Atmosphere is key on Konduku’s versatile debut on the Spazio Disponibile imprint, with four tracks that all carry that trademark pulsating yet crystal-clear sound.

It’s impossible not to love the second installment of ‘The Key to Our Love’, a compilation of some of the sweetest and obscurest deep soul in existence. Make sure to check it out.

Last but most certainly not least is the wonderfully accomplished new album bij Lord & Dego on 2000 Black. If it ain’t bruk, don’t try to fix it.

Not in the charts, but forever in our hearts and now available once again are the ‘1990 EP’ and ‘Stomp the Beat’ by Gherkin Jerks, two of Larry Heard’s deepest endeavors, as well as Mr. White’s wonderful double A-sider ‘Sun Can’t Compare’/’You Rock Me’. No further comment necessary.
