Description

Roy Cousins is primarily known for his vocal group the Royals. But working with Scientist in his prime in the early 1980s he was able to spin out some formidable versions to his excellent vocal productions. These four cuts are awesome. Seismic and heavy - check em out !!What a great and unexpected release this is, a dub excursion by the sadly underrepresented mixing engineer Scientist. I am pleased to report that not only are they all new to me, but I am also unfamiliar with the original vocal tracks that these dubs version, though I am reliably informed are by Don Carlos, Horace Andy and Gold. They are exactly as you'd imagine prime Scientist mixes to sound following, as they do, in the rich classical dub tradition of King Tubby and Jammy's. I have been playing all four tracks over and over, though all are equally strong if I had to pick a favourite I would probably choose the forth track - tomorrow it might the third.
