Heavy new broken soul sickness on the ever reliable FACES...

L’Aroye was the very first artist to record for Faces Records, and has proven to be exactly the kind of bench mark producer that Faces represents. His track ‘Be The One’ was the second release in 2004, and has gone on to tear up dancefloors and clubs worldwide.

In the meantime L’Aroye and keys hoodlum Ky had been building their studio, and this killer combination nailed the most eagerly anticipated broken monster of this year. The Meet steps up with snares tougher than whiplash, and amidst the filtered synths and meandering bassline there’s an infectious Afro Cuban clave, twisted into the 21st century.

On the flip, L’Aroye’s Be The One gets a very welcome rerub by Bedford brukateer Domu, soulfully two-stepping and shuffling it’s way into your ears, with Humphrey’s vocals sitting on top of the track like chocolate frosting.
This 12” has been played by all the Co-Op fam like Afronaught, Dego and IG, as well as Gilles Peterson, Benji B and Mitsu the Beats from Jazzy Sport. Domu reckons L’Aroye to be one of the best producers around at the moment.
