After a wonderful first edition last year, Rush Hour are stoked to return with a highly promising, curious Weekender on two locations. Dream 2 Science, Hieroglyphic Being, Sadar Bahar, Vincent Floyd, Jordan Gcz and many more, are guest on the Friday and Saturday at OT301.

*Please note* Peven Everett has canceled his show on the Sunday. Therefore Sadar Bahar is joining on the Saturday!

The Caribbean Islands are pretty hot these days, but this tropical area is larger than its known for, because there’s relatively little focus on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. A shame, since the region has had a very particular, and interesting music scene since decades. Compiled by Sanjay Agarwal,“The Best of Felito Records” introduces the more experimental “Musica Tropical” from the country, with a blistering set of heavy cuts with deep indigenous undertones expressed in a stellar array of hybrid tropical sounds.

The compilation also includes a bonus DVD of the Colombian Gold documentary, which Sanjay made with his friend Ivan Higa, after digging deep into the heritage of Colombian music.

Fascinated as we are by the film and this banger of a compilation, we took the occasion to ask the compiler a few questions.

Order "The Best of Felito Records" incl. "Colombian Gold" DVD here.

Output is partly dictated by approach. After requesting Lebanese born producer, DJ and Morphine label owner Rabih Beaini for a store mix, he asks us to make the record selection for him. "It would be fun to work with tracks that are unfamiliar to me", he explains. The RH crew dug the bins and Beaini starts from scratch with approximately a hundred tracks to select from, creating cinematic, dissonant harmonies with his mixes.

Rabih Beaini is a lone voice in electronic music. As Morphosis, Beaini has been crafting away in the nether-regions of the techno underworld since the 90s. Few people thread as challenging and intriguing live shows as him, where dark wave, krautrock, post everything and techno all sit together in haunted hardware harmony. With his store mix, despite his adventurous approach, Beaini proves to be no different as a DJ.

This is the fourteenth in a series of Rush Hour Store mixes, where we invite our favorite artists and DJs to dig the bins and record us a mix on the spot. Please go to Soundcloud's page for more info on the featured tracks.

Frédéric Thiphagne and Matthieu Hebrard are two French 'gringos' based in São Paulo, who share the same mission: to spread the works of contemporary Brazilian artists as well as forgotten music from the past.

"Desconstrução"is the first compilation on their fresh Goma Gringa label, which stands as a manifesto of an effervescence. For a very long time São Paulo had the sinister reputation of being samba’s grave. Nowadays, it can safely claim to have one of the most exciting music scenes in Brazil, and "Desconstrução" proves that.
Order "Desconstrução" here.

The Rush Hour crew is hooked on Brazilian music and asked the duo about their São Paulo life and their label…
