HOLY MOZES by AWANTO 3

2 hot new tracks from Steven De Peven aka AWANTO 3 with a beauty of an Aardvarck remix that plain ROLLS... Great to see two of the red nose crew re-united on vinyl once again! TIP!'Holy Mozes' builds on a positively funky 80's beat that reminds somewhat of Prince's danciest grooves. The long, loopy synth stabs that Awanto 3 adds give away his history with Rednose Distrikt, as this sound was one of their trademarks. It also gives the track its dusty funk as it rolls into the quirky cross-over swinger it becomes. Ready, aim, fire! 'The Gun' is a stripped down, bare bones track that builds up around latin-esque percussion groove. Past the 2,5 minute mark the track comes to full swing when a simple and dirty, yet effective, synth line takes over and morphs 'The Gun' into a metallic, dark dance floor mover. On remix duty is former Rednose Distrikt collaborator Aardvarck (he and Awanto 3 used to produce and DJ together together). He transforms 'The Gun' into a sluggish mid-tempo groove. A oddly interesting beat that grows on you after a few spins and comes in handy when you want things to become a little freaky. From Amsterdam with love, here's to another deadly release.
