On the back of Shake's retrospective Frictionalism 1994-2009 compilation, we have asked some producers from the new generation who were influenced by Shake's music one way or another to remix his music. Since Shake's catalogue is such a diverse one, we looked different directions for remixers.
The first 12” embodies the whole new beat scene (dubstep, future house, wonky, what do we call it these days). FaltyDL is on fire lately so we asked him to remix 'Assimilated'. The result is an up tempo stepper that both offers a look into the past as well as into the future. Banging business.
Next up is Space Dimension Controller. This UK young buck has been surprising many with his first few releases and remixes over the last year. He transforms the down tempo 'Detroit State Of Mind' into a mid tempo techno-soul affair that will have you grooving all the way through.
Second part will feature the new techno generation with mixes from MRSK and Skudge.
