CINNAMON EP by NACHO MARCO & RAOUL LAMBERT

For this 10th WPH release we looked towards Belgium’s finest Raoul Lambert aka Raoul Belmans aka ½ of Swirl People to follow up on his splendid WPH Blue b-side track ‘3 seconds’ released late 2009. Raoul quickly sent us ‘Cinnamon Dreams’, the result of a long Valencia-session with friend and fellow producer Nacho Marco, during which they apparently ate the whole Spanish supply of Belgian ‘speculoospasta’, a specialty that cannot be translated in English, but it contains cinnamon, hence the name of the track and the E.P. The very least we could say to the inventor of ‘speculoospasta’ is thank you, because the track blew label boss Red D away completely. Two more tracks were requested and the result is the ‘Cinnamon E.P.’, evenly split by Raoul Lambert and Nacho Marco, because for the b-side of the E.P. they both provided one additional track, showing perfectly the difference between a collaboration and a solo production. ‘Monaco Right Now’ sees Raoul Lambert taking the raw, slow disco-infected house vibe to a new level, featuring a very catchy vocal sample. One pot of ‘speculoospasta’ for the first punter to recognize the sample… ‘Delicate’ is Nacho Marco’s exercise in deep and slow late night house music, crafting us a beautiful track for that ‘early morning closed-eyes dancing’, as fellow WPH member Dynamodyse would describe it. A fine 10th release for WPH and the very last release to hit the shops in the current package and design.
